The news comes as SLASH and his bandmates Myles Kennedy (vocals), Brent Fitz (drums) and Todd Kerns (bass) also have the #4 spot at Active Rock with their single "You're A Lie."SLASH and his band are riding a wave of critical acclaim with a four-star review in
Revolver magazine noting: "Apocalyptic Love is at heart a collection of lean, high-octane rock-and-roll tunes built to be blasted out of open-top sports cars or, more suitably, open-air stadiums" (July 2012); heavy exposure for the new single and striking video for "
You're A Lie" (MTV, Fuse, MTV2 VH1); and rave reviews for their sold-out shows across the country and rock festival appearances this month. While in New York the band performed an epic version of "
You're A Lie" on NBC's Late Night With
Jimmy Fallon (May 21). Watch the performance here: https://www.latenightwithjimmyfallon.com/blogs/2012/05/slash-with-myles-kennedy-the-conspirators-perform-youre-a-lie/.

Here are a few critical soundbites about APOCALYPTIC LOVE:
"Apocalyptic Love is at heart a collection of lean, high-octane rock-and-roll tunes built to be blasted out of open-top sports cars or, more suitably, open-air stadiums."
-Rich Bienstock, REVOLVER (four out-of-five star CD review, July 2012)
"Fans of his work in GNR and
Velvet Revolver will find much to embrace in the album's 13 tracks, ranging from the sneering rock hooks of 'You're a Lie' and the heavy metal grind of 'Halo' to the extended instrumental passages on 'Anastasia.'"
-Steve Appleford, LOS ANGELES TIMES (May 24, 2012)
"Recorded with backing group Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, the album is filled with head bangers and plenty of fancy fretwork, most notably on standout tracks like 'Hard and Fast' and 'Standing in the Sun.'"
-Mike Spinella, ROLLINGSTONE.com (May 20, 2012)
"Not many could slip a smoky blues-rock solo into a galloping punk-ish tune, but
Slash pulls it off on "One Last Thrill." "Anastasia" moves from a classical arrangement to a gale-force rock tune. 'Apocalyptic Love' airs Slash's sleazy gutter blues, grandiose solos, and scrappy riffing."
-Scott McLennan, BOSTON GLOBE (May 22, 2012)
"Slash is very much grounded in his own present and future. Exhibit A is his new record Apocalyptic Love, a raging, full-realized collection of full tilt rock and roll."
-Rich Bienstock, GUITAR WORLD (July, 2012)
"…13 cuts that slam and sting. On "Apocalyptic Love," "One Last Thrill," "Halo" and "Anastasia," to name a few, Slash's six-string wails, the rhythm section pumps and Kennedy roars. Tune up those air guitars."

Mario Tarradell, DALLAS MORNING NEWS (May 23, 2012)
"What makes this disc so appealing is the sheer diversity of it. Proving his true jack-of-all-trades abilities, the songs range from straight-up rockers to bluesy infused tunes to even the softer side of
Slash with classical and cinematic elements - all in all, a well-rounded offering proving that he's no one-trick pony… it's nice to see a return to rock at its purest form- letting the music speak for itself. On Apocalyptic Love, which has already yielded the hit single'You're a Lie,' it's plain to hear that
Slash is speaking louder than ever."
