New Music Seminar Announces 2012 Artists On The Verge Top 100 Chart; Winner to be Announced @ NMS
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Workman Entertainment & PR) New Music Seminar (NMS) announces the 2012 "Artist On The Verge Top 100 Chart," the most comprehensive chart for emerging artists in the U.S. Artist On The Verge Top 100 Chart is available now. The Artist on the Verge Project, created and compiled by NMS and powered by ReverbNation, promotes musicians who have positioned themselves to have the best chance of breaking through and receiving national recognition.

NMS' Artist On The Verge Top 100 is based on more than analytics of digital and traditional music sales. This comprehensive chart also assesses touring history, merchandise sales, media and social media activity, as well as qualitative factors determined by the NMS Music Committee. Artists are further evaluated by using an arsenal of analytics from Musicmetric, Next Big Sound, music industry experts, tastemakers and NMS Partners such as iHeartRadio, SoundExchange, BMI, Pandora, ReverbNation, Spotify, eMusic, SESAC and OurStage.

To be selected for AOV artists must have never sold over 10,000 albums or 30,000 single tracks and must reside in the United States. Additional criteria measured by the NMS Music Committee and Partners for selecting artists are as follows:

Quality and uniqueness of the songs
Quality and uniqueness of the production and recording
Quality and uniqueness of the live show
Quality and uniqueness of artist image, concept and platform
Artist career momentum and the buzz they have built
Social media and other activity on Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, ReverbNation, OurStage and other music and fan sites

The top three artists from AOV will be provided with the opportunity to perform at the upcoming New Music Seminar in New York City and the chance to win over $200,000 in marketing, promotion, music equipment and consultations from some of the top industry leaders in their respective fields.

On June 19, the last day of NMS 2012, the NMS delegates will choose the winner from the three finalists through live SMS voting. To register for NMS 201
