The Briggs Return With New Single "Panic"
Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ MWPR) Los Angeles-based punk band The Briggs released their new single "Panic" today on This Is LA Records, marking the first release on their newly established independent record label.

"Panic," which premiered over the weekend on LA's Star 98.7, will deliver to fans the familiar punk attitude they've come to expect from The Briggs, but with a fresh take. "We have no intention of rehashing anything," says singer Joey LaRocca. "I think we've successfully combined the old-school Briggs sound with the new. We have always had a diverse style - and some people prefer some records over others - but I really feel all Briggs fans will be able to enjoy this one."

After a 2-year hiatus, The Briggs' return to the music scene will include a video of the single, directed by Beau Patrick Coulon, and a headlining show at House of Blues Anaheim on May 20th.

A Briggs' rep states that, while some lament the direction the industry has taken over the past few years, the band feels refreshed and rejuvenated towards the current music scene. "I'm inspired by what's happening currently," says Joey, "and feel there are a ton of amazing new bands who have a totally fresh approach to writing. There's a resurgence of a scene that I find very exciting. For the first time in a long time, I see kids putting on house shows, basement shows, warehouses. I see groups of kids reclaiming their scene and creating an actual community again. It's been gone for a while, but I feel like there is new generation of bands, fans and writers that are breathing life back into music."

"Panic" can be purchased on iTunes and all other major online music retailers.
Tickets for the House of Blues show can be purchased at: https://www.HouseOfBlues.com.
The Briggs are currently writing new material for a full-length album, as well as recording covers for upcoming Rancid & Adolescent tribute compilations.

About The Briggs
Formed by brothers Jason and Joey LaRocca, and joined by Chris Arredondo and Alex Patterson, The Briggs quickly caught fire in 2004 when they signed with LA's notorious punk label SideOneDummy Records. Later that year the band released their EP "Leaving The Ways," which Alternative Press called "snotty, fist-pumping street punk with a message." In 2006 they released their tour de force "Back To Higher Ground" and in 2008 "Come All You Madmen," featuring guest appearances by some of punk rock's biggest living legends.

The proud Los Angeles band continues to support their home NHL team, the Los Angeles Kings, by performing their beloved hometown anthem "This is LA" (the team's official theme song) at local Staples Center games.
