New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Sound Carta Y Su Orquesta) Brooklyn-based Puerto Rican rapper, Sound Carta, has recruited a cast of jazz musicians for his upcoming release, "Nos Fuimos!" (We Outta Here!), due out on May 15th, 2012. Working with jazz drummer and producer Wes Reid, the duo has put together a new album that combines traditional Salsa music with fresh Hip-Hop and Soul. Wes Reid, a native Houstonian, relocated to New York City in 2005 as a jazz drummer and began working with Sound Carta last year.
Planning a tour to promote the release of Nos Fuimos!, they are relying on public support to fund their entrance in the 2012 National Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York City by way of a Kickstarter campaign (View the campaign here.).
"The beginning of this tour should have its origins where our music and history have strong roots." said Mr. Reid. "What better venue to have this happen than at the National Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York City? And with close to three million people in attendance, how can you go wrong?"
"This music is about bringing together old with new." said Mr. Reid. "It is about educating today's generations about the lineage of so much music that is being played today. We hope to bring this music to everyone now and be a welcomed addition in the music industry for years to come."
