New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ JMD Records) New music artist PhiL was a young boy in Memphis, Tennessee when he realized music was his passion. As the youngest in a brood of three, the boy Philip Bell was teased by his mother and father that he was an unplanned baby. But there was a grand plan to little Phil's destiny and it is quite evident what it's about now.

PhiL's older brother encouraged him to join a choir, the drama club, and a band - but not with the reason you might expect. It was actually to get girlfriends! Take note, plural. And yet this juvenile motivation became obsolete as PhiL discovered his love for performing. At Watkins Overton High School of Performing Arts, PhiL excelled as he studied music and was even a member of the many award-winning Overton choirs: gospel, madrigals, concert, and his personal favorite, show.

Singing and performing have been good to PhiL. He has entertained crowds during a Mardi Gras celebration in Nice, France and has been featured at Motown Café in Sendai, Japan. His vocal coach Dini Clarke convinced him that he could mount a tribute concert on his own. They titled it 'Chillin' with PhiL' where he sang his own renditions of songs by Cab Calloway, Donny Hathaway, Johnny Mathis, and Harry Belafonte. Fre$h Records' executive Chazz Falker asked him to record his song 'Every Thought' and it won First Place at a local talent show as PhiL was in the duo PhiL 'n' Fresco. The attention even brought PhiL a national commercial for Oreo cookies!

PhiL continued to work with the group PhiL 'n' Fresco, smashing live talent shows and events with an experienced bravado. But egos clashed and the duo went their separate ways. With his record producer Chazz Falker, PhiL completed his very own album and he describes it as such: 'The music represents all of me. My Southern roots and my friends of every culture, age - you name it. People, music - unite!' His album title is encouragement enough: 'U PhiL Me?'

Indeed, we do PhiL.
