The Stammer: Debut EP
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Stammer Official Website) The Stammer's debut album brings together the sound of today's droning indie rock and the sensibilities of 70's era post punk. Full of flourishing guitar lines, vintage synth leads and hypnotizing vocals, this first offering is sure to keep you listening. Combine all of this with some noisy structure and you have a tremendous debut from this Philly band.

The four track EP ranges from the pounding sounds of "Same Lines" and "Follow The Leader" (which feels like a heavier, garage-rock version of Brian Eno's "Needle in the Camel's Eye"), to the longing, synth-drenched sounds of "Lonely Son" and "The Last Time."

Originally started as a recording project by vocalist Brian Brotman, The Stammer has since grown into a four-piece. Brian's gloomy vocal tone and delivery beckon the type of 70's post punk that influences most of the project. It is exemplified in the opening track "Follow The Leader" as it proclaims "There's nowhere you can go/Just keep down your head and do what you're told."

A compelling debut from this Philly band that just became the featured artist on The Deli Philadelphia.
