Introducing GoldAN

New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Alex Nielsen Official Website) Alex Nielsen AKA GoldAN began making music his sophomore year of high school as a hobby, but continually became more and more interested in pursuing alternative hip-hop. Initially making beats off of Garageband, he transitioned to Logic Pro in hopes of making higher quality music; most of the music he had created so far had been tracks you could've taken off a Jon Lajoie or Lonely Island album, but after listening to artists such as Gorillaz, Wax, Kanye West, Childish Gambino, and more, he decided it was time to become a little more serious. He enrolled at UM - Twin Cities and began working on his first solo album "Asleep," which would chronicle the story of four people living in a post-apocalyptic world similar to that of Fallout 3 or The Road. Although the album has a dark note to it, Nielsen hasn't taken himself too seriously. How many rappers will go from referencing classic english literature such as "The Lottery," ("Front row, everyone stoned at the lottery") to Waka Flocka Flame ("I go Haaaard in the paint, like a Waka Flocka Pirate")?

The album has a unique sound to it; with a basic foundation similar to the Gorillaz, a layer of Odd Future darkness, and an engaging story line in a fictional world that resembles Deltron 3030, who could say they have ever heard an album like this before?
