OAKS, PA. (Top40 Charts/ MVD Entertainment Group) David Carradine (Kill Bill 1 & 2, Bound for Glory), Michael Maloney (Truly, Madly, Deeply, Henry V) and Mariel Hemingway (Manhattan, Deconstructing Harry) come together in this satirical buddy drama set in the dizzying whirl of fame at the heights of the music business.

Singer-songwriter James Lee Springer (Carradine - who actually performs a number of his own songs in the film) has an uncompromising style which has held him back for the past 20 years. He's now getting his shot thanks to the efforts of his best friend/manager (Maloney). While Springer would prefer to let his musical vision and talents lead the way now that he's made it to the top, his manager has a whole other idea of what it takes to stay there.

American Reel was written by Scott Fivelson and Junior Burke, produced by Fivelson, Jordan Rush and Darrell Griffin, and directed by Mark Archer (producer of the award-winning In the Company of Men). The film debuted theatrically on a double bill with Kill Bill: Volume 2 on December 8, 2011 at Quentin Tarantino's New Beverly Cinema.
