New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ SMI Studios) There are many new artists coming up in the music industry who stray away from the label conventionally known to their specific genre of music. Gone are the days when you were required to stand in long lines to purchase the CDs of artists only promoted through certain channels. With the invention of the internet, independent musicians of many different sizes and shapes have been allowed to immerge. You can find an overwhelming number of artists that offer a sound more unique than what is commercially given to us; one of these groups is the revolutionary hip hop group the Wandering Monks.

As compared to the more commercial hip hop, consciously minded hip hop seems have come a long way since the rising of the internet and digital music distribution. Wandering Monks/ Freedom Movement collective is one of the musical entities that is beginning to shine in this modern day. Unlike other independent hip hop counterparts, the Wandering Monks manage to canvas intellectual and uplifting subjects while producing quality upbeat music. This collective consists of rapper/producer McAd, his emcee partner Linguistory, young producer Kris King, and their female counter part Alais Clay. A fusion of creative juices from four very different minds that developed separately, but established a contrast that seems to work very well. The members of the Wandering Monks/ Freedom Movement collective are over 10 years apart in age, but still manage to influence each other personally and musically. The inner voice of their intuition in concurrence with their principles in human rights, has developed and pushed this seemingly unlikely collective to make some of the most inspirational songs of their careers.

As of late, their songs have been playing over select local radio broadcasts who support independent music, and have continued to support their local community. Freedom Movement has created quite a buzz in their local music scene in a very small amount of time. From creative music videos, guest features, intelligent subjects and their strive to withhold their ethical principles, this Denver/Boulder hip hop group continues to produce hits. With classics such as Letter 2 the Man, Freedom Is the Movement, Back in a Time, and new releases such as Time to Switch, Wandering Monks and ChickenBeast; the Freedom Movement collective continues to gain popularity in their specific niche. You can even download most of these tracks from the SMIStudios website for free.

By visiting their website and joining their mailing list, you will be regularly updated on new music released by this sensational collective; as well as the chance to download free albums. You can also find out about live concerts performed by Wandering Monks and their collective by visiting this website. You can even watch their videos on the web and subscribe to their YouTube channel directly through the SMIStudios website.

When browsing the SMI website, you will also find albums of artists such as Kris King, Alais Clay and older Freedom Movement projects. These albums can also be found through other outlets, such as Itunes, CDBaby or Amazon. It is important that we as a people continue to further support unique and talented artists in our communities. In a day and age where a majority of commercial music is pirated, it is important to support the talented independent artists which give their life's to give you more intelligent and uniquely diverse musical options. As humble as these guys present themselves, the overall message, quality, and focus is anything but humble. Please take a minute to listen to the music of this very talented group; the Wandering Monks.
