Sound Of Guns Unveil New Single 'Silicon'
LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts/ Distiller Records) Liverpool bred rock band Sound of Guns storm into 2012 with the release of their new single 'Silicon' through Distiller Records. 'Silicon' leads the way for new studio album 'Angels & Enemies' (set for release in March) produced by Dave Eringa who has worked with the likes of Manic Street Preachers and Ocean Colour Scene.

Formed in 2008 and discovered by BBC Introducing, 'Sound of Guns' propel their music with anthemic power chords, jangling guitars and riotous gang vocals. 'Silicon' with its driving bass line and soaring vocals looks set to create waves and has already secured the band a headline slot at HMV's Next Big Thing series of concerts in February 2012.

'Architects', the lead single from Sound of Guns debut 'What Came From Fire' secured play-list on daytime Radio 1, XFM and was 'Single of the week' on the Greg James Radio 1 show. 'What Came From Fire' was also one of the ten albums shortlisted for XFM's New Music Award this year. With their new single 'Silicon', Sound Of Guns have their sights set once again at the top.

The journey for Sound of Guns has been far from dull. Since forming the band have gone from having their guitars stolen, studio burnt to the ground to being surrounded by armed police (a misunderstanding after a local at a gig heard the band talking about 'guns'). More recently they have toured with The View, performed at Radio One's Big Weekend, Glastonbury, Reading, Leeds, recorded at the legendary BBC Maida Vale studios and Zane Lowe making them his 'Hottest Record in the World'.

Sound of Guns vocalist, Andy, said: "This was one of the first songs we wrote for the new album, I had just watched James Dean in 'Rebel Without a Cause', so that kind of influenced what the song was about, I had images of all these kids just smashing the place up and causing chaos for no reason... then the riots happened."

Sound Of Guns are not afraid to appeal to the masses and with the support of Radio One heavyweights and bands including Everything Everything, Miles Kane, The Courteeners and Delphic, it's now time for Sound of Guns'to take centre stage.
'British Rock and Roll from the heart' - Zane Lowe.
