New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ PLA Media) Two decades after his debut release, Chas Sandford returns to radio via AirPlay Direct with a new Americana project, Wag More Bark Less, which has found six slots on the first Grammy Ballot. Chas is no stranger on the music scene as he's garnered twelve ASCAP "Most Performed Song" awards and received more than 8 million spins alone on "Missing You."
Chas Sandford, a national treasure of a songwriter, behind such hits as "
Missing You" (John Waite), "What Kind Of Man Would I Be" (Chicago), "
Talk To Me" (Stevie Nicks), just to name a few, is now experiencing the thrill of Grammy fever himself. Chas hopes for each member's consideration in regards to the project as the first round of voting is about to come to a close.
"There were a great many emotions swirling around, so this record is pretty personal," examines Chas. "As we know, the more real, the better. There are a lot of raw nerve endings hanging out and these songs flowed out pretty easy."
Chas' songs have been recorded by Tina Turner, Rod Stewart, Melanie,
Brooks & Dunn and Alison Krauss. His studio, Secret Sound, has also been a recording home for Tony Bennett, Madonna, Joni Mitchell, Tracy Chapman, Celine, Dion, Joe Cocker, Def Leppard, KISS, Keith Urban, Amy Grant, Wynonna, Trisha Yearwood, Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood,
Shania Twain and Tim McGraw.
"It's clear that behind the scenes, Chas has established a very reputable name for success in this business," says Robert Weingartz, Chairman and CEO of AirPlay Direct. "We are honored to have him featured on our platform."
