7 Deuce Acts Nominated For Hollywood Music Awards
LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ Hollywood Music In Media Awards) HMMA recognises music based on creative merit rather than artist popularity, airplay, sales or label affiliation. Using this approach, it offers talented artists from anywhere in the world exposure and connectivity to the most influential professionals and organisations in the music industry and the 'licensing machine' of Hollywood.

There will be eight live performances during the awards show featuring nominees and special guest appearances including the legendary Smokey Robinson who will be receiving a lifetime achievement award, with the entire event being shot with multiple HD cameras for digital and cable broadcasts.

The 7 Deuce Acts nominated are:
Nina Schofield from the UK - Nominated for Best Female Vocal
Brought to Deuce's attention through the company's affiliation with Don E Productions, Nina Schofield's mix of thoughtful and catchy songs and breathtaking beauty is already proving to be a classic recipe for Pop success.

Since her first public performance at the age of 16, Nina Schofield has performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival sharing the bill with the likes of Tori Amos, Seal, Sly and The Family Stone, Jeff Beck, and the Beastie Boys, and supported John Power from Cast on two occasions too. Radio stations across the UK have also begun picking up on her uniquely arresting voice which has seen her recently invited to perform live on BBC radio as well as being interviewed on local TV on a number of occasions.

Garfield Mayor from the UK - Nominated for Best Music Video
Originally signed to SONY BMG, Garfield Mayor left the label two years ago after it became clear it was no place for a new artist. Fortunately, his debut album Take And Take which was mixed by Mike Spencer who has worked with the likes of Jamiroquai, Kylie and Newton Faulkner and includes session musicians that have performed with Justin Timberlake, Kanye West and Joss Stone to name but a few, is now fully in his control and he is now concentrating on promoting it independently.

Through his career Garfield Mayor has performed in New York, Nashville, and Charleston along with a number of top venues in London too. As well as a singer songwriter, he also self produced his debut album and is now in the process of setting up his own business to produce and mix other independent artists material.

Helen Austin from Canada - Nominated for Best Alternative Act and Best Acoustic / Folk Act

Originally starting out as a musical stand-up comedian where she regularly headlined the Comedy Store in London, Helen Austin was at the same time writing and singing original compositions on the side. On returning back to Canada, she was then able to make this her main focus resulting in the release of two studio solo albums, titled Song Of The Week in 2010 and most recently Treehouse this year.

Having already seen her music placed on a number of TV shows such as One Tree Hill, 90210 and a number of MTV programmes, Helen Austin is also being heard in a selection of major stores across the UK too. On top of all this, she was asked to write a song for The Relay For Life CD which raises money for the Canadian Cancer Society and most recently nominated in 5 categories at this year's Vancouver Island Music Awards.

Bedford from Australia - Nominated for Best Adult Contemporary / AAA Act
After winning the Best Rock Act award at last year's HMMA, Bedford are now aiming for another award at the event to help increase their profile even further.

Lead singer David Trimboli is thought by many to be the love child of Lenny Kravitz and Chris Cornell even though he is Egyptian, and with a sound that is Pop enough for radio and heavy enough to appeal to younger audiences, it is highly likely you will be hearing a lot more about Bedford following the release of their new album Whatever It Takes

Further information on Bedford can be found on their website www.bedford.net.au
Simon Andersson from Sweden - Nominated for Best Country Act
Still known to this day as the 'young Swedish kid' who sang a James Brown song live on nationwide TV and getting the whole crowd dancing when he was just 13 years old, Simon Andersson's music career has moved from strength to strength since then.

After forming his own band MANDA and supporting some top Swedish acts as well as making another appearance on Swedish TV, Simon Andersson decided to break the band up and pursue a solo career. He has since taken his music to Nashville where he has been recording his new material; the out come of this already resulting in his music being played on major Swedish radio stations and a number of live sessions on radio too.

X-Y from France - Nominated for Best Rock Act
Influenced by the likes of Linkin' Park, and Muse resulting in a powerful modern Rock sound, X-Y have come along way since their formation on the French Riviera in 2006.

Having played more than 300 gigs, some of which were part of the 1st Web Musical Contest where they reached the last stage out of thousands of artists from France, Switzerland and Belgium, the band are now set for bigger things following the success of their debut album Another Me and the recent release of their second album Flying.

Further information on X-Y can be found on their website www.xyrock.net
Jahmings Maccow from USA - Nominated for Best Reggae Act
Raised in the quiet Caribbean island of Anguilla to the rough ghettos of the South Bronx in the US, Jahmings takes Reggae music back to its roots by focusing on its foundation, storytelling.

After becoming one of New York City's toughest Reggae acts during the 80's with bands like Catch-A-Fire and The Enforcers, Jahmings then moved on to LA where he branched out to become more of a Rhythm & Blues rock guitarist.

Jahmings now returns back to his original style of music with the release of his latest albums Man Redemption and I.

Deuce would like to wish Nina Schofield, Garfield Mayor, Helen Austin, Bedford, Simon Andersson, X-Y, and Jahmings Maccow all the very best of luck at the awards ceremony in November and we will keep you up to date on developments.
