Livingston, NJ (Top40 Charts/ CommConnection Official Website) The four teenagers who make up the alternative pop rock band, Taylored (https://www.TayloredBand.com), want other teens to be empowered to stand up to prevent bullying and suicide.
The band's song "Radio Takeover," performed recently at Mexicali Live, encourages teens to not be afraid to speak out. Taylored was inspired to write the song after hearing of a seemingly well-adjusted student who killed himself after an argument.
Taylored is aligned with the
Livingston High School chapter of https://www.DoSomething.org which is dedicated to encouraging teens to speak out about various world causes.

Livingston High. Zane Decker, age 19 and the bassist/vocalist, and Matt Calebrese, 19 who plays guitar, are both from Jackson, New Jersey and make up the rest of the band.
Austin Taylor co-wrote a song about suicide prevention called "
Never Let You Go" while attending the prestigious Grammy Foundation Grammy Camp in Los Angeles last summer. Austin was one of only two young vocalists from the New York City area to be selected for the 10-day long program led by top music industry professionals. He collaborated on the song with John Nichols, a fellow Grammy Camp student from Ohio.
"The band shares a passion to educate the public about suicide and bullying because often teens are afraid to speak out for themselves or feel they may not be taken seriously," said Austin Taylor.
"Our generation often turns to music for expression and insight, so we hope these important messages will reach more kids who may be in need of support and comfort," said Gregg Greenberg.
The band is working to generate more attention about its teen causes and its music by competing in the Z100 Eventful Hometown Hero contest for a chance to perform at the Z100 pre-Jingle Ball concert on December 9th, at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.
The top 25 music artists with the most votes from Z100's Hometown Hero website will move to the semifinals where a panel of music industry judges will narrow down to a list of five finalists. Fans will vote for the final winner.
Taylored performs at venues throughout the Tri-State area. The band is in studio with Grammy Award winners Earl Cohen and Calvin Gaines as well as writer/producers Phil Vassil and
