Los Angeles Indie Rock Quartet - The Elizabeth Kill's New Record Hits Itunes And Hits The Road
Los Angeles, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Elizabeth Kill Official Website) Fans of Indie Rock and show-goers alike should feel like kids on Christmas morning as the self-titled debut from The Elizabeth Kill hits iTunes October 25, 2011 and the band preps for tour. Known for electrifying live performances, the female fronted quartet delivers their signature style of music and keeps fans wanting more. With Influences like The Cure, Alanis Morrisette, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, No Doubt, and The Smiths you can expect lots of attitude and nothing short of a good time with The Elizabeth Kill. Our fans like live music, they work hard and like to play hard and we want to rock hard with them, says front-woman Sarah Goff.

Even while their debut CD hits iTunes and 2012 tour dates are finalized, the band is simmering, seemingly about to bubble-over musically, booking local shows and booking MORE time in the recording studio. We are really on fire creatively, Sarah says grinning. She also added that heading into the studio before tour sounded splendid. It would seem one bands busy is another bands splendid and The Elizabeth Kill appears poised for a splendid year.

iTunes album review: Velvet and Iron are not words commonly paired in the context of modern music, but such is certainly the case in the voice of The Elizabeth Kill's Sarah Goff. In this, the Southern California quartet's eponymous seven-song release, the alternately steel-hard and seductive alto of Goff paints a compelling, often heartrending portrait of passionate love, loss and ultimately, hope. Goff takes the listener on an intimate, revealing journey; songs like Cruel World and The Great Escape set the stage for what feels like a universal one-act play wherein the narrator sometimes stops just short of a delicious sort of lyrical voyeurism. Guitarist and songwriter Jeremiah Roiko, adds a deft touch to the soundscape she creates, and his ringing, sumptuous riffs perfectly accent the mood. Bassist Son Vo, whose jazzy fretwork is punctuated by thunderous, finger-plucked moments of bombastic abandon, adds a satisfying counterpoint and weight to Roiko's sonic framework. Beneath it all lies the meticulous, almost virtuosic stickwork of TEKs newest member, drummer Corey Manske. His perfectly-timed, alternately bone-crunching and blade-fine elements lay an unshakeable foundation onto which the other musicians build an impressive aural edifice.

With rare musical skill, theatrical bravado, and a genuine emotional frankness, The Elizabeth Kill serves up a thrilling hybrid of dark carnival ride and quiet, intensely personal storytelling that is hard to resist. Highly recommend.
