Hip Hop And R&B Upstarts, Bedroc, Breakout With New Mixtape 'Bored Of Education' Plus Four New Music Videos, And Scores Of Fans On Twitter, YouTube & Facebook
New York, NY (Top40 Charts / Pilato Entertainment Marketing & Media) BEDROC, featuring Mike "Brown" Brownyard and Marcel "ML" McCollough, started its career together a decade ago when the two rappers were classmates in junior high. Today they are fast becoming the newest act to emerge on the highly competitive hip-hop/R&B scene with Bored of Education, its newest mixtape. Propelling the success of the new CD are four world-class music videos, which have brought over 50,000 fans to YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.

"This is what we have worked towards for almost three years," says Mike "Brown." "The songs, the recordings, the videos, the stage show - we have tried to completely focus on making BEDROC something that stands out in the field of hip hop and pop. It took a long time to create and record, but it was worth it."

The group, which also includes musician, producer, programmer and writer Steve Basil, have received heavy airplay on Rochester, NY's top urban station, WDKX-FM, where two of its songs, "It's On Tonight," and "Bright Lights," have reached the Top 10. In addition to Basil, on Bored of Education the group worked with several cutting edge, up and coming producers including Evan Brown, Joey C, DJ Black Diamond, Ayinde, and Tonye Kay.

"Bored of Education is the first mixtape we've made that really incorporates all our original material and blends together this great team of collaborators we have begun to work with," says ML. "The other recordings were important to our creative growth, but this one is where we really started to put it all together in musical vision that we have had for a while now."

The success on regional radio, has led to a series of high profile live shows, including headlining The East End Festival, appearing at concerts with Snoop Dogg, Kid Cudi, Chiddy Bang, Sean Garrett, Wale, Mac Miller, Sam Adams, Hoodie Allen, Machine Gun Kelly and Chris Webby.

Although Brown and ML began working together when both were in 7th grade, and during high school as members of the East Coast Kings, the fusion of BEDROC came when the Rochester-based duo both attended John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio, starting in 2009.

Since their first gig as BEDROC, the duo has successfully completed their freshman mixtape titled, "Pay Per View" hosted by Cleveland, Ohio's DJ E-V and clothing brand iLTHY. The mixtape generated over 10,000 viral downloads and over 5,000 hard copies landing them the No 15 All Time best mixtape by an Up & Coming artist on HotNewHipHop.com.

Their remix to Kesha's hit single "Tik Tok" has generated over 155,000 views on YouTube. In 2011, they teamed up with MTV director Michael Dispenza (Maino, Roscoe Dash, Jadakiss, Swizz Beats) whose videos from Bored of Education and the single, "It's On Tonight," have gathered over 45,000 views on YouTube. The group also worked with acclaimed music video production company, Purple Films, on a video of "Take Me Home Tonight," and a series of viral "BEDROCumentaries," available on the official group site: BEDROCmusic.com.

"This is just the beginning of what we can do," says Brown, who will also be seen in his acting debut in the forthcoming feature film, King's Faith, starring EMMY Award Winning actors James McDaniels (NYPD Blue; Spike Lee's Malcom X) and Lyn Whitfield (Maddea's Family Reunion; Josephine Baker Story; Touched By An Angel). "BEDROC is here to stay, and we plan on making some noise."

BEDROC is jointly managed by John Gabriele and Bruce Pilato.
