Artist Masta-Li Brings South African Flavor To Hip Hop/R&B With Debut Album 'Durban Kings'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Masta-Li Grind Entertainment) South African Hip Hop/R&B artist Masta-Li announced the release of his debut album, 'Durban Kings,' on the Masta-Li Grind Entertainment Label. Boasting 14 tracks, the album is available from major online retailers, and features guest artists N.K., L.T., Sandile, GeniuS, and Zeeh.

Masta-Li (born Linda Ngcobo in KwaMakhurtha, Durban) is a hip hop artist, songwriter, singer, record producer, and CEO of the Masta-Li Grind Entertainment Label. He began writing rhymes at the age of 16, after being strongly influenced by Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Sean P Diddy Combs, Mason Mase Bertha, and others. Masta-Li made his first demo while in undergraduate school at the University of KZN with 3 friends who were studying music there. He then met Skandalas from C-Elements, also a rapper and record producer, and briefly associated with the group on several collaborations and performances. While attending the Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine, Durban from which he received his medical degree, his thoughts were consumed by rapping, and he wrote down everything that came to mind. He could not flourish lyrically in a structured school environment, but that didnt stop him from making music. After completing medical school, Masta-Li set up a recording studio at his house in Pinetown, Durban, which was the beginning of Masta-Li Grind Entertainment. He has since worked with Joe Nina, N.K., L.T., Genius, Malum Cansela, and many other independent artists.

Every track on Durban Kings rocks the house with pumping sounds and great beats. The various guest artists are an added plus to Masta-Lis own fresh and unique sound, which incorporates Hip Hop and R&B with South African flavor. Durban Kings is lyrically strong, and is just right for cruising, chilling with the crew, or hanging in the club. Combining elements of other genres escalates the quality of this LP, and Masta-Li does it well. Overall, the album has universal appeal, the flow is smooth, and the music is banging. All who love to dance will hit the floor with respect for this artists debut creation.
