NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) Photo Finish/Atlantic recording group I Fight Dragons have announced details of their much anticipated debut album, "KABOOM!" Produced by Self's Matt Mahaffey (Beck, Tenacious D, Hellogoodbye), "KABOOM!" is set to be released everywhere October 25th. The Chicago-based band is heralding the release by streaming two new tracks - the title-track "Kaboom!" and "The Geeks Will Inherit The Earth" - on their official website, www.ifightdragons.com. What's more, the band has also revealed the tracklisting and album art to their upcoming collection, the follow-up to their previously released EPs, "WELCOME TO THE BREAKDOWN" and "COOL IS JUST A NUMBER..." (see below track listing and album art).
Adding to all this excitement, the band will appear as special guests on select dates during Yo Gabba Gabba's tour, kicking off on September 15th at the State Theatre in Minnesota, MN (see below tour itinerary).
"KABOOM!" once again showcases I Fight Dragons' digitized, daring approach to music, masterfully mixing chiptune and pop-rock. The group creates original songs not only with traditional rock elements but also by using old video game soundcards. Founded in 2008, I Fight Dragons began accessing systems such as the Nintendo Entertainment System and the Nintendo Gameboy to compose new music as a core part of their sound. Even live, the band uses Nintendo controllers that function as instruments. Since forming, I Fight Dragons have toured with Cobra Starship, Travie McCoy, MC Chris, and Photo Finish labelmates 3OH!3.
