Wiz Khalifa Earns 9 Nominations At 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards; Pittsburgh MC Receives The Second Most Nominations For This Year's Ceremony Including 'MVP Of The Year' & 'CD Of The Year'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) Rostrum/Atlantic Records recording artist Wiz Khalifa has been nominated for an outstanding 9 nominations at the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards, earning the second most nominations for the night. These new nominations come as no surprise after the enormously successful year for the rapper saw multi-platinum singles, 2 headlining tours and the release of his major label debut, "ROLLING PAPERS," which has been RIAA-certified Gold. Wiz' nominations include "Best Club Banger," "Rookie of the Year," "Track of the Year," "CD of the Year," "Made You Look Award" "Verizon People's Champ Award," and "Sweet 16: Best Featured Verse," for his notable rhymes on the remix to Cee Lo Green's "Bright Lights, Bigger City" and British MC Tinie Tempah's "Til I'm Gone." Wiz is also nominated for the most coveted award of the night, in the "MVP of the Year" category, which sees him up against Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, and Kanye West.

What's more, the Benny Blanco-produced third single off "ROLLING PAPERS," "No Sleep," is rapidly approaching platinum status, while the track's video, directed by Colin Tilley, has over 3 million views on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuVAeTHqijk). Wiz was also recently nominated in the "Best New Artist" category at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards for his smash hit "Black & Yellow" and also took part in the Snoop Dogg tribute at this year's BMI Awards, alongside fellow rappers Nas, Game, Akon, Too $hort and more.
