Preservation Hall Jazz Band To Perform At Austin City Limits With The Del McCoury Band On September 17, 2011
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Girlie Action Media & Marketing) New Orleans-based icons, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band will perform with The Del McCoury Band at the Austin City Limits Music Festival on Saturday September 17th at 7:00pm, on the Vista Equity Stage. The two groups recently joined forces to record their collaborative full-length American Legacies, which was released earlier this year. In addition to being a showcase for their incredible musicianship, the album is a fascinating juxtaposition of traditional New Orleans Jazz and Bluegrass, made by true legends who are both celebrating 50 years in their respective genres. The groups will perform together at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival as well, which takes place the week of Friday September 30th - Sunday October 2nd.

Pres Hall has dedicated itself to keeping the traditions of New Orleans jazz alive, both in their hometown and on tour around the world. Along the way, they have brought in collaborators of all musical stripes to play, honor, and reinterpret. One of these collaborations has been with My Morning Jacket, the subject of which is documented in the film Live at Preservation Hall: Louisiana Fairytale, directed by Danny Clinch. The piece was shown at SXSW, Bonnaroo, Sidewalk Film Festival, and KahBang Music & Art Festival this past year and will have an upcoming screening at the New Orleans Film Festival (Oct 14 20th in New Orleans, LA).
