Soul/Jazz Singer Audra Bryant Makes Her Playwright Debut: 'The Cage," Opens In Hollywood Tonight!
LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ Audra Bryant Official Website) "The Cage," is written and produced by Audra Bryant. The play demonstrates Audra's creative talents as a songwriter and a playwright. Her song "Black Man" will be featured in the play which opens at the Stella Adler Theatre located at 6773 Hollywood Blvd. on Thursday, September 1, 2011. Audra is a Jazz and Soul singer/songwriter who was born and raised in Detroit. Growing up she was a member of the "Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit," and was able to perform for form President Bill Clinton, and represented the United States at the World Festival of Children's Theatre in Copenhagen, Denmark. Upon moving to Los Angeles she has pursued her singing career and has worked as a television producer for "America's Got Talent" and "The Tom Joyner Show." and a casting director for "America's Got Talent." "The Cage," is directed by the critically acclaimed Actor/Director/Writer Dino Shorte, and is a touching story of triumph and faith in perilous times. David, 24, is sentenced to 16 years in prison for armed robbery. He leaves behind his mother, girlfriend and two children. "The Cage" parallels David's journey to becoming a man of God whilst we witness the struggle his family experiences in the process. Will anger, fear and resentment consume them or will they escape "The Cage?" The cast consists of several members from the Faithful Central Bible Church Repertory Company and includes: Dino Shorte', J. Patrick Wise, Dayna Dooley, Charmaine Charles, Rasheda Dene', Kimberly Anne Hall, Khari Wyatt, Kenny Cooper, Kambria Perkins, and Darnell Cates. The audience is sure to feel enlightened and encouraged by this piece.
