LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts) - With their self-titled debut album scheduled for release on
September 26th,
Tenacious D have already plotted their return to the stage, where the duo of Jack
Black and Kyle Gass hatched and honed their acoustic metal chops.
The D will kick off a seventeen-date tour on "Zeptember" 8th at New York City's Town Hall, wrapping on Halloween, "Rocktober" 31st in San Francisco. Along the way, they will also make tele-stops at The Late Show With David Letterman (September 26th), The Daily Show With Jon Stewart (September 27th) and Late Night With Conan O'Brien (October 12th). Tenacious D are also giving fans the opportunity to introduce the band prior to their performances by submitting their names at www.tenaciousd.com.
The band's long-awaited recording debut, Tenacious D, will allow fans to hear studio versions of their signature tunes, including "Fuck Her Gently" and "Tribute." The album, which was produced by the Dust Brothers, includes guest spots by Foo Fighter Dave Grohl, Phish's Page McConnell, Redd Kross' Steve McDonald and the Vandals' Warren Fitzgerald. The band has also tapped Spike Jonze to direct the video for "Wonderboy."
