NEW YORK (Green Day Official Website) - Green Day singer Billy Jo Armstrong is not dead. Contrary reports surfaced on Friday, when an internet rumour surfaced claiming that Armstrong had been killed in a car crash the day before.
A posting on the band's official website cleared things up: "Despite what you may have heard rumored on the Internet, Billie Joe did not recently die in a car accident. Billie Joe, Mike and Tre are all fine."

Green Day is currently working on a new album, their first since 2000's Warning. Armstrong said recently that the band has about thirty-five songs they're going to record.
