New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Violet Stone Official Website) Hot New York band, Violet Stone, releases it's first full album,
Black Friday. Packed with nasty licks and tasty turns, this effort promises an explosive impact on the rock music scene.
Black Friday blasts into straight-ahead rock with "Rain," but the album doesn't stay in one lane for long. Spicy and funky "Rest Your Head" belies the melodic southern "Writing on the Wall," and the disturbingly fun and strange "Annie's Got an Alibi" rubs raw against the heavy, metal-tinged "Shameless" and title-track "Black Friday." Rounded out with crowd-pleasing toe-tappers "Gone Away" and "Sunshine in Your Rain," this hard rock album has a little something for everyone.
Official online release of Black Friday transpires on June 21, but advance copies of the album were available at select local performances:
Dublin Pub - June 10 - New Hyde Park, NY
Connolly's Klub 45 - June 18 - Manhattan, NY
Downloads will be available directly from the Violet Stone website and Facebook, via Reverbnation.com, and also on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Lastfm, Fox News, Virgin Mega, Zune and many other online retailers.
Formed in 2007, the band began musical life under the name Black Friday. Within a few short months, they tip-toed into the muck of the New York City & Long Island's live music scene. Lighting up such venues as TRAXX in Suffolk County and Dublin Pub & Nutty Irishman in Nassau County, not to mention National Underground, Local 269 and Connolly's Klub 45 in Manhattan, the guys rocked every corner of the tri-state area. After a quick bassist change, then another, then a drummer change followed by yet another bassist change, Violet Stone has found it's groove with the current lineup. With only one month's preparation, Santo took the stage at Dublin Pub and blew the place up with his high energy and tight riffs. Jimmy F held court on drums, and kept the crowd moving on the mic. Marc Korte, the constant and driving influence of the band, wowed the audiences with his nimble guitar solos, and drove home the message on lead vocals. Poised for a leap forward and already making some waves, Violet Stone promises to satisfy that growing thirst for a damn good American rock band.
"Violet Stone brings the back country to the big city with a hard-drivin' mix of rowdy riffs, nasty licks, and hard-core funk. This tasty turn of metal & southern rock makes Violet Stone a band you just can't miss."
