NEW YORK (UK gossip news website) - Victoria Beckham says that her marriage to the soccer star David Beckham would not be wrecked by allegations he had an affair with an assistant. The Beckhams have become the focus of a British media frenzy since sexually explicit text messages, said to have been sent between Beckham and the assistant, Rebecca Loos, were printed in a tabloid newspaper over the weekend. Loos worked for Beckham when he moved to Spain in September to join the soccer club Real Madrid. Victoria Beckham, known as "Posh" as a member of the Spice Girls, told the Sun tabloid that the couple's relationship would survive. "We have been through a lot worse than this and we're definitely going to get through this," she said. In a statement on Tuesday the celebrity couple dismissed the stories and said they would not be commenting about them at this time. The Beckhams made a show of unity on Tuesday night, travelling to London from their Hertfordshire home - dubbed "Beckingham Palace" by the media - for dinner at the exclusive Claridges restaurant. After three hours at the celebrity hotspot, the pair emerged smiling before a horde of waiting photographers and journalists.
