New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Pennjamin Bannekar Music) The success of the current single "ILLwrite" which can be seen on MTVU and various other video channels, has many people waiting to see what the member of Project: Fr3sh can do alone. When asked about putting out a solo project Pennjamin said "It was obviously more challenging to make this album but this was a more rewarding experience simply because it was all me." The album has a depth of range yet centers on the person Pennjamin has become through the journey of life. "At times it felt like I would never complete the project. Then there were other times where I had to question if I was apprehensive about putting the project out because I couldn't make it any better than it was at that point." Producers such as Best Kept Secret helped shape the feel of the album which also boast features from Chicago's new school hip hop artist such as Omen and Phil G. who give a standout performance on "Counterfeit." "Fast Cars" is a lyrical second to none but one of the most creative ways to talk about sex. When asked about the lack of features on the album Penn replied, "I wanted to show people what I could do. Being that I was coming out of a group situation, I really wanted to stand on my own two feet for the majority of the project." Penn has delivered an album that not only the diehard fans of hip hop can relate to but also the casual fan as well. "I tried to not think that much and rely on my feelings to create the album. Usually when you take that approach, there is a direct correlation with people and their thoughts and feelings." said Pennjamin. Unlike many artists on the scene today, Penn will be able to capture the attention of music lovers alike without gimmicks.
