Urge Overkill Release New Album Today - Their First In Over 15 Years!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Girlie Action Media & Marketing) After over 15 years since their last full-length, Urge Overkill release their long-awaited new album Rock&Roll Submarine today. After releasing their first single," Effigy," to the roaring approval of both fans and critics, the band is now sharing the album's opening track, "Mason/Dixon," which you can listen to HERE. The song drips with gloriously sludgy power chords and the familiar, haunting vocal harmonies of duel frontmen Nash Kato and Eddie Roeser. With the chemistry between the two as magnetic as ever, the guys come blazing out the gate with their signature fusion of arena rock and punk.

"I'm so excited that Urge is back. I've been listening to their new record, and they sound as fresh,
innovative and unique as ever." - Billy Corgan

"crank up the stereo - Urge Overkill are back"- Alternative Press

UO's live show hasn't lost any bite either, and the band will be hitting the road for US tour dates this month. In fact, if they're not playing your city you aren't out of luck - their LA show will be recorded and sold via instantly download cards and USB's. The band is also excited to announce their partnership with Groupees, an innovative new company who will be selling the Rock&Roll Submarinewith a "pay what you want" model ($2 min, $7 suggested) for the next 72 hours - click HERE to take advantage of the offer. 10% of all donations will go to MusiCares

UO released its first full-length, the Steve Albini-produced Jesus Urge Superstar, in 1989 through Touch and Go Records and steadily began ascending in popularity. Their third release for Touch and Go was helmed by another iconic producer, Butch Vig. By the early 90's, they were opening on Nirvana's Nevermind tour and Pearl Jam's Vs. tour, and eventually signed to Geffen Records, who releasedtheir beloved classic LP, Saturation. The group's biggest moment in the spotlight came when Quentin Tarantino prominently used their cover of Neil Diamond's "Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon" in his film Pulp Fiction. The soundtrack soon became one of the most acclaimed and successful of the decade and Urge's version of "Girl" became a hit. The band went on to sell over 2.5 million albums, and recently came full circle when they performed at the New York Friar's Club Roast of Quentin Tarantino this past December.
