Nashville, Tenn. (Top40 Charts/ Jim Havey Public Relations) It has been said that a country music act has not truly made it until it has played The Grand Ole Opry. If so, that moment came to fruition on Saturday night for the LoCash Cowboys' Chris
Lucas and Preston Brust, the Stroudavarious Records duo who stepped into the sacred circle on country music's most revered stage to make their Opry debut.
"When I was just starting my music career, my father and I had the opportunity to go out onto The Opry stage after a show, and I took his photo in the circle," said Brust. "When he offered to have my picture taken there, I stepped forward but quickly stopped in my tracks and thought to myself, 'No, your time will come. You have to earn the right to stand there.' After eight years of hard work, it happened tonight and it was every bit as magical as I had hoped."
Lucas added, "This is like winning the Super Bowl. We've dreamed about this for a long time. The emotion is overwhelming."
After a warm introduction from Larry Gatlin, the charismatic duo, known for their high-energy live shows, toned things down to deliver a powerful performance of "Keep In Mind," their current radio single about the bond of family. This moment was especially poignant for Lucas, whose father just recently passed away, as he sang the song with his mother and grandmother in the audience. Brust's parents were also in the house.
Lucas announced to the Opry audience and WSM Radio's worldwide listeners that their next radio single, "You Got Me," is set for a June 6 add date at country radio. They then performed it for the enthusiastic audience. Written by Lucas and Brust with bandmate Eric Halbig, this up-tempo, harmony-laced song is about that feeling one gets when falling in love. Produced by hit-maker Jeffrey Steele, "You Got Me" will appear on LoCash Cowboys' forthcoming Stroudavarious debut album, THIS IS HOW WE DO IT.
