New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Jennie Walker PR) The Connective will kick off its 2011 panel series on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 in Manhattan at the offices of MusicXray located at 12 Desbrosses Street in New York City at 6:30 p.m. The Connective Series educates emerging artists, musicians and music business professionals on industry dynamics and resources and also serves as a networking opportunity, and raises awareness for music related charities.
The Panel "The New A&R Platforms" will serve as an in-depth look at MusicXray, a online A&R platform which offers opportunities for artists and songwriters with major and indie records labels, publishers, producers and more. Panelists include: Mike McCready, CEO, MusicXray and a TBD artist who has had success using the MusicXray platform. Jennie Walker is the founder of the Connective Series and will serve as the panel moderator.
Companies who have used the MusicXray A&R platform include: NBC's The Voice, J Records, RCA, Arista, Mercury Records, Warner Chappell, Minty Fresh, to name a few, as well as film/TV licensing companies.

MIKE MCCREADY
Mike McCready achieved early success as a signed musician with two hit singles and is currently experiencing success as an entrepreneur. His companies have been featured in Success Magazine, The New Yorker and other media, and he has been the subject of a very popular case study at Harvard Business School - which is taught at top business schools all over the world, and has been profiled in a few documentaries, and even has been written into the screenplays of a couple network television series.
Mike speaks several languages, which helps him to conduct business internationally. He has consulted for the government of Spain on music industry-related matters, and occasionally rants on The Huffington Post. He also runs a daily music song competition on his Song Cat blog at www.song.cat.
Most recently, Mike co-founded and currently serves as Chairman of MusicXray, where the company is introducing new technologies that help the music industry identify top talent and potential hit songs quickly and efficiently while opening the doors of opportunity to millions of musicians. In fact, MusicXray has become the largest online community of music industry professionals in the world.
Mike currently lives in Barcelona and New York and has a special fondness for his home state of Nebraska.
JENNIE WALKER
Jennie Walker is a singer, songwriter and charity fundraising consultant who believes in the triple bottom line approach to business. As a member of the prestigious Artists Against Hunger & Poverty Program of WHYhunger, she made a personal pledge to ensure that all of her musical performances, and music business activities have a charitable component, where she can give back to the creative community. The Connective Panel Series is her effort to provide music business insight for the creative community and also raise awareness and funds for important charities. The Connective Panel Series continues to work as a bridge between Ms. Walker's two loves: music and charity.
Jennie Walker recently finished working with Grammy nominated producer, Tommy Faragher, on her debut album, "Night Flight to London." In 2011, Jennie won the 2011 British Airways Face of Opportunity Competition with her music business pitch around her debut album. Jennie and Tommy have received national and international recognition for their song, "It's Our Time", which was inspired by Hillary Clinton's New Hampshire Primary Win and gained an enormous following among Clinton supporters and was written about in Time Magazine, Philadelphia Inquirer, Boston Globe, French Daily papers La Croix and Le Libre, and regional publications Temple Daily Telegram, Columbus Ledger Enquirer. They had a #1 song placement on top UK indie band site, Overplay, as well as the new Japanese indie band site, YouMusic. She won the Overplay Play & Rate competition in 2007 for their song "Black Hat." Their song "Simon" is on the KeyNote New York "Pure Sounds from the Underground Vol. 1" CD. The Artists Forum in New York named her one of the Top 10 Artists to Watch in May 2008. She was named Indie Artist of the Year in 2008 by Starliners Radio in the Netherlands and nominated for Indie Artist of the Year by Internet Radio Magazine in 2009. Her song "I Want To Show The World" was selected for the Hello Music Indie Channel 9 to run on the inflight audio system for Delta Airlines, on all flights globally during May and June 201.
Jennie Walker is President Emeritus of the Georgia Music Industry Association (GMIA) where she produced monthly music education panels, song critiques, Open Mic Night's as well as an annual Country Music Songwriters Showcase and an all genre Songwriters Showcase, during Georgia Music Week Festivities.
She was awarded GMIA's President's Award for volunteer service in 1997. She has also appeared on top radio and TV programs such as WBAI 99.5 FM New York, HOT 97.5 FM Atlanta, Good News Broadcast, and Good Day Atlanta. She has been written about in numbers international publications including China Today. Walker also helped to produce the 2006 charity album "Serve" for WHYHunger and The Hard Rock Cafe, which features the artists Bruce Springsteen and Aerosmith, as well as numerous other top recording artists.
