Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ 5 ELA Official Website) Detroit hip hop legends 5 ELA will debut their first ever music video, "Posh", a single from their recently released double EP "5 ELA/Ladies Luv 5 ELA". "Posh" is the first in a series of music videos that the group will drop throughout the month of May, promoting three current EPs available for free download at the group's website,www.5ela.bandcamp.com.

"Posh" is a statement from 5 ELA about their approach to hip hop and music, continuously making their music stylish for their fans, reflecting the way they live their lives on a daily basis. Keeping themselves new and fresh, spiritually and mentally fit, 5 ELA is hip hop for a higher class of music listener.

5 ELA are well known in Detroit for their extensive history in the city's hip hop scene, including their work at the famed Hip Hop Shop. In the 1990's, the group then known as 5 Elementz featured former member Proof of D12 and production from J Dilla, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest hip hop producers of all time. Their debut EP "Yester Years" is recognized as a hip hop classic.

In a recent interview that gained international attention, group members Thyme and Mudd discussed the history of the Detroit hip hop scene, a unique perspective from two of the true creators of the city's movement in the 1990's that birthed superstars like Eminem and J Dilla. Much of the history of that era has been distorted, particularly as a result of the fictionalized depictions in the movie 8 Mile. The interview spurred controversy with their honest discussion of Eminem's relationship with their former partner Proof and his lack of involvement with the local arts scene.

After a hiatus from making music, in 2008 5 ELA released the mixtape "...Will Be Televised", featuring production from J Dilla, Black Milk, 9th Wonder, Big Tone and Nick Speed. The release was a critical success, marking their reemergence in the Detroit hip hop scene as one of the best groups in the city well known for its talent.

5 ELA member DJ Sicari currently owns and operates 5E Gallery www.5egallery.org in the city of Detroit, an institution inDetroit hip hop that regularly hosts the city's finest talents. The Foundation, a weekly 5E Gallery event celebrating women in hip hop, was established by local emcees Invincible and Miz Korona, as well as the renowned fashion photographer and 5E partner Piper Carter, and is an example of how 5 ELA works to give back to the local community.

"Posh" was directed by Steve Furay, creator of Common Breath Media, an independent web magazine dedicated to international hip hop culture. Furay is also partnered with the international hip hop label Arab League Records, whose lead group, Egypt's Arabian Knightz, earned the world's attention during their country's recent revolution by releasing two anthems for the people, "Rebel" and "Not Your Prisoner".
