Las Guitarras De Espana To Release Fifth Album, Tantas Cosas
Chicago, IL (Top40 Charts/ Las Guitarras De Espana Official Website) Las Guitarras De Espana (The Guitars of Spain) presents "Flamenco Collaborations Series," featuring Spanish guitar-based music and dance as a foundation for creative dialogues with artists from Indian, African and Arabic music traditions. Chicago's rich cultural diversity provides a backdrop for this groundbreaking run of shows. This format, presented at Mayne Stage, 1328 W Morse Ave in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood, will allow artists to create new work together and to present these materials to audiences in an excellent venue.

The next show in the series (Saturday, June 4, 2011) will serve as the official record release for Tantas Cosas, Las Guitarras De Espana's fifth album. Tantas Cosas (which translates to "Many Things") features compositions by long-time collaborator and band member Patricia Ortega. The album continues to add musical flavors to the Spanish guitar-based mix, borrowing influences from West African music, pop ballads, 60's rock and Gypsy jazz. The group will be performing selections from Tantas Cosas throughout the night and will be joined by some very special guests. Flamenco indie rock band Dientes de Caramelo from NYC will also be performing.

Subsequent dates in the series (July 23, September 24 and November 5) will feature Flamenco, Afro-Cuban and African music and dance, Arabic and Andaluz music and more. Las Guitarras De Espana will be performing at each show in the Flamenco Collaborations Series.
