 NEW YORK (Aretha Franklin Fans Website) - Soul singer Aretha Franklin has been admitted to hospital for unspecified treatment, her spokesperson Gwendolyn Quinn said on Tuesday. Quinn did not say where the singer was hospitalised. Franklin, who turns 62 on March 25, made her first recording at the age of 14. She gained fame in 1960 with the song Respect. Other hits included Chain of Fools, Baby I Love You, I Say a Little Prayer and You Make me Feel Like) A Natural Woman. In 1980 she made her first film appearance in the Blues Brothers starring Dan Akroyd and John Belushi. A winner of 16 Grammy awards, she worked with artists like Luther Vandross, Elton and James Brown in a career spanning nearly five decades.
