Concert Celebrates Diverse Music Of The Silk Road, With Music And Dance From Azerbaijan
Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles) A unique fusion of jazz and traditional music from Azerbaijan will be performed at a one-off concert at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles, on May 12, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. The event will feature Emil Afrasiab, a leading Azerbaijani jazz pianist and master musicians of the "Mugham," the traditional music of this region. They will perform alongside dancers from the National Dance Ensemble of Azerbaijan.

"These talented performers will bring to life a rich and colorful culture from the heart of the ancient Silk Road," said Mr. Elin Suleymanov, Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan. "Audiences will experience the graceful and dynamic dances of the Caucasus and a unique interpretation of jazz blending with the sounds of our country's traditional music."

The event will be presented by The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles in cooperation with the Farhang Foundation.
