Saturday Night Space Dust!
Long Island, NY (Top40 Charts/ The NoMen official website) Available digitally from 1st May 2011 through iTunes, Amazon, eMusic, Spotify and the usual digital media. CD in 6 page digipack available on Topplers from the 6th June 2011.

Saturday Night Space Dust is a retro-futuric rock album by Scottish band The NoMen released to coincide with the 50th anniversary of man's first trip into space. The lyrics are inspired by the space race of the late 20th century and the music inspired by 1970s Space Rock, 1960s Garage, Prog and Krautrock. Is it a swirling, throbbing, psychedelic trip through the rock strata of the universe!

The NoMen have been around for a few years and are best known as the backing band for DIY punk icons such as Steve Treatment, Phones Sportsman and Jowe Head all of whom were involved with Swell Maps. Their recordings with these artists have been released on vinyl and CD by Topplers Records but the NoMen have also built up a considerable library of recordings all available free of charge on their website. These recordings have been mainly cover versions of tracks by late seventies DIY punk bands such as The Swell Maps and Television Personalities many of which have been released on compilation albums throughout the world! The NoMen has always been a loose collective of musicians who play with different bands but, since February 2010, they settled on a four piece line up and started expanding their songwriting skills which has culminated in this album written, produced and released independently by the band

Topplers Records formed in 2003 with a mission to release new music by Steve Treatment and Jowe Head both of whom had been our favourite artists from the late seventies. We had been in touch with them via the internet and, inspired by the 'Do It Yourself' attitude of early punk, produced a series of seven inch singles and budget price CDs by them and other artists from the same era. It wasn't long before we started looking at contemporary artists and recently released our first 12* vinyl LP by Dan Melchior and a series of compilation albums featuring the best underground artists on the independent scene! Topplers records are available mail order through our website or from the UKs best known independent record shops.
