Hollywood, CA (Top40 Charts/ Goodnight Kiss Music) Music Connection Magazine, the premier Los Angeles music industry trade for independent musicians, has been announced as an official media sponsor for the 2011 Goodnight Kiss Songwriting Competition. Other sponsors include Broadjam.com, the host for online entries, TuneVid.com music video production company, and The
Music Registry, who publishes entertainment industry guides and resources.
Janet Fisher, owner of Goodnight Kiss, is highly pleased with the new media sponsor. "We are really happy to work with the great people at Music Connection. It's the perfect magazine for our audience. There are so many fine songwriters and musicians who are talented and just starting to make the leap into professional work. Many of those are the readers of Music Connection Magazine."
Goodnight Kiss Music Publishing was established in 1986, and has sponsored many contests throughout the years. The prizes vary, but are always somewhat unique. For example, a crystal bracelet USB drive will hold music and get one noticed at conferences; a music video of your band for YouTube is a necessary luxury; electronic drums are just fun. And who knew Swarovski and Altec Lansing had teamed up to make earbuds? All the sponsors are bringing in valuable prizes and services, catered to promote and support the working musician.
Goodnight Kiss Music has over 100 cuts in broadcast film and TV, and sometimes offers publishing contracts on the material they find via the contest; however, it is always the artist's choice to accept, there is no obligation. The contest awards ten places with prizes, and there is a lyric division for those songwriters who do not compose melody.
Judges are decision makers in the music and film industry, and are announced at the beginning of the contest, which opens in August. Winners are announced in December.
Sponsors are still being accepted until the contest begins.
