New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Gracie Management) Extra Arms, the great indie rock hopefuls from New York, release their debut single, "Race to Sleep" today, mixed by Bryce Goggin (Pavement, Dinosaur Jr. and Antony and the Johnsons).
While there may be swarms of bands coming out of New York City, there are perhaps few like Extra Arms that capture a moment and connect at a deeper level, truly elevating and inspiring fans. Extra Arms embodies the feverish obsession for songs that you just can't stop playing. Max Kimbrel (bass) and Daniel Benjamin (drums) deliver one of the most dynamic and emotive rhythm sections in recent years, with a call-to-action immediacy towards a greater purpose. Add on top of that the engaging lyrics of singer Dave Yang, dealing with those topics of commonality that cut across the private barriers of topics rarely addressed out in the open. While sometimes melancholic, the intricate notes of hope crafted by lead guitarist Matt Haar give listeners a sense of triumph.

After playing the live circuit under the name USVS, Extra Arms is now recording the album they have been nurturing and developing for years, and will be released this fall.
