NEW YORK (CSNY Fans Website) - A living myth, the US rocker David Crosby, who gained fame as a member of the Woodstock generation, has been arrested in New York on Saturday for drug and gun possession, a New York City Police Department spokesman said. Crosby, 62, who has twice been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, was arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning at a Manhattan hotel. He served time in jail in 1985 and has struggled with drug addiction. "He was charged with possession of a weapon," and for "a small quantity of marijuana," the police spokesman said. The spokesman said Crosby was apprehended at 1:00 am in possession of a .45-calibre handgun. Crosby was a founding member of the 1960s band the Byrds when the group recorded the folk-rock hit Mr Tambourine Man and Turn, Turn, Turn. He went on to become a founding member of Crosby, Stills and Nash.
