Lakeshore Records To Release The Soundtrack For Max Winkler's Ceremony
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Cinemedia Promotions) Lakeshore Records will release the Ceremony - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack available digitally and in stores on April 12, 2011. The soundtrack features original music by Eric D. Johnson (of the Fruit Bats) and songs by General Public, Van Dyke Parks, Ringo Starr, Eric Burdon & The Animals and Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend.

Eric D. Johnson is a singer/songwriter and sole permanent member of the Fruit Bats. In 2000 Eric joined Califone and Perishable Records. Through tours and relationships with artists like Modest Mouse, Iron and Wine, and The Shins, the Fruit Bats signed with Sub Pop Records. Johnson has continued playing both with other bands and with the Fruit Bats. In addition to composing the music for Ceremony, Johnson has also composed the music for the upcoming film My Idiot Brother.

In addition to the original score by Johnson, the soundtrack features Pete Townsend ("La La La Lies"), Ringo Starr ("It Don't Come Easy"), Van Dykes Parks ("Plots and Entrees"), Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend ("Papa Hobo") and Eric Burdon & The Animals ("Good Times").

Ceremony marks the film debut of writer/director Max Winkler (son of Henry Winkler). "The songs inside are very dear to me," said Winkler. "They have accompanied me every step in the journey of this movie, from when it was nothing more than a tiny idea kicking around in my head till now."

Sam Davis (Michael Angarano) convinces his former best friend to spend a weekend with him to rekindle their friendship at an elegant beachside estate owned by a famous documentary filmmaker (Lee Pace). But it soon becomes clear that Sam is secretly infatuated with the filmmaker's fiancee, Zoe (Uma Thurman), and that his true intention is to thwart their impending nuptials. As Sam's plan begins to unravel, he is forced to realize how complicated love and friendship can be.

Magnolia Pictures presents Ceremony in theaters on April 8, 2011. Ceremony - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack on Lakeshore Records will be released digitally and in stores on April 12, 2011.
