"A Taste of San Francisco" will be Mr. Bacot's debut Los Angeles appearance; it also marks the first time Ms. Kosut has been back to Los Angeles since her successful 2007 performance at the Jazz Bakery. Their Los Angeles-based band is led by
Stuart Elster at the piano, with Lee Spath , drums; Tim Emmons , bass; and, Robert Kyle , horns.
This San Francisco duo will each be presenting a sampling of the material for which they are known - an exciting contrast in styles - from Benn's soulful R&B-influenced jazz to Linda's swingin' and intimate song stylings of jazz, pop & folk. There will certainly be some duets to spice up the evening.
"I am so looking forward to coming back to Los Angeles," says Linda. "It has been far too long since I've performed there, and although I've seen colleagues' shows at the M Bar, this will my first time performing at this venue." She adds, "Several years ago, I introduced Benn to my audiences in New York. And I am very pleased to introduce him again, this time to Los Angeles."
Backstage Magazine's Bistro/BMI award winner, Kosut, swings jazz, pop and folk, blending songs from the standard to the obscure in unexpected renditions and arrangements. She has performed nationally at clubs such as New York's Iridium Jazz Club to the Jazz Bakery in Los Angeles to San Francisco's Yoshi's Jazz Club, and just completed a 6-show run in 2010 at San Francisco's Rrazz Room.

PERFORMERS COMPLETE BIOS
Award-winning vocalist Linda Kosut swings jazz, pop and folk, blending songs of these differing genres into unexpected renditions and arrangements. Linda has performed nationally at clubs such as New York's Iridium Jazz Club to the Jazz Bakery in Los Angeles to San Francisco's Yoshi's Jazz Club, and just completed a 6-show run in 2010 at San Francisco's The Rrazz Room.
A native New Yorker, Linda grew up wanting to perform, but took it on as a "hobby" by studying acting, dance and voice. Yet, after her move to San Francisco 25 years ago, and as she approached "retirement" age, she says, "I had this strong urge to finally pursue my lifelong dream of singing and performing." "My approach to music and my song choices seem to have as much to do with the wisdom of age [mine] as it does with the sheer joy I get from performing, entertaining and inspiring others."
Linda has recorded two solo CDs, the most-recent of which Long As You're Living, the songs & poetry of Oscar Brown Jr., received BackStage Magazine's BISTRO/BMI AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING RECORDING. She also received nominations for BEST FEMALE JAZZ VOCALIST and BEST JAZZ RECORDING from MAC, Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs, and the Cabaret Hotline MEMBERS' CHOICE AWARD.
A mainstay in the San Francisco Bay Area music community, Linda is also a singers' coach, always looking for innovative ways to coach vocalists, either in performance techniques or learning how to record; and providing showcase opportunities for aspiring performers - a commitment to inspire and encourage other singers to grow as performers.
Linda lives in San Francisco with her new husband, 2 dogs, 2 turtles, 3 chickens and thousands of fresh-water fish! Official Website

He has performed on many of the major stages in the Bay Area including The Rrazz Room, Anna's Jazz Island, Jazz at Pearl's, and currently plays a monthly date at San Francisco's Savanna Jazz, which has just been named by Downbeat Magazine as one of the Top 150 Great Jazz Rooms in the world.
His talents have taken him as far Berlin's ATrane, BBop, and BFlat jazz clubs, as well as a special guest appearance with Linda Kosut at New York's Triad, and a surprise performance at the 2009 Monterey Jazz Festival.
Benn's three CDs What Love Is, My Romance and Retro Nouveau are all out-of-print.
Like Linda, Benn is a tireless promoter of local singers, co-hosting the singer's open mic Song Of The Month at Martuni's Bar & Lounge in San Francisco. Benn continues to expand his repertoire with songs from the American Songbook and contemporary tunes, and is currently working on a tribute to Nat King Cole. Official Website
