Detroit Rock Band The Pounders Announce New Stimulus Package
Detroit, MI (Top40 Charts/ The Pounders) The Motor City, once the heart and soul of American industry and innovation, has been among the nation's hardest-hit cities by the economic downturn. Once described by The Wall Street Journal as "The Center of the Universe," Detroit now tops the list in unemployment, foreclosures and bankruptcies. Though the effects have been devastating for some people, singer/songwriter Lefty Coulson decided to create his own opportunities. "I decided to do what any red-blooded Detroiter would do," Coulson said, "start a rock band, write some great songs, and make a record." So, joining with three other musicians from Detroit: Dan Logan, Jim Amann and Michael Perantoni, Coulson did just that and formed The Pounders.

The Pounders' debut CD is appropriately titled "You And What Army." "We recorded all the songs in the living room of what used to be my house," Coulson said, "and you can dance to every one of them!" Then he added, "You'll find a ten dollar investment in our record infinitely more stimulating than the dollars already pumped into the economy!" He then went on to say, "We figured we had nothing to lose, so here it is - our own stimulus package. We hope people will give it a listen."

"You And What Army" shows influences from the British Invasion to the melodic song craft of Motown throughout each of the CD's eleven tracks. The lead track, "Merry Go Round," is a song about trying to keep up with the world's demands; "Paperboy" expresses a wistful look back at a more innocent time; "Over That" addresses failed relationships and the wreckage they leave behind; and the darker-sounding "Pollyanna" explodes with raw sentiment. The remaining tracks, "Miles Away," "Inside Out," "Weatherman" and "Dying to Know," each tell a story all their own in The Pounders' unmistakable way.

"You And What Army" can be previewed and purchased online at CD Baby: https://www.cdbaby.com/cd/pounders and the iTunes Store. The CD will be available soon at Amazon, Rhapsody and other online music stores.
