Las Guitarras De Espaρa Presents Flamenco Collaborations Series
Chicago, IL (Top40 Charts/ NoVo Arts Press and Marketing) Las Guitarras de Espana (The Guitars of Spain) presents "Flamenco Collaborations Series," featuring Spanish guitar-based music and dance as a foundation for creative dialogues with artists from Indian, African and Arabic music traditions. Chicago's rich cultural diversity provides a backdrop for this five concert series. This format, presented at Mayne Stage, 1328 W Morse Ave in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood, will allow artists to create new work together and to present these materials to audiences in an excellent venue.

The first show in the series (Saturday, March 26, 2011) is the "Gypsy Trail Concert" and will feature Ensemble of Ragas and Gypsy Rhythm Project with a headlining set by Las Guitarras de Espana (vocalist Patricia Ortega, guitarist Carlo Basile, Flamenco dancer Wendy Clinard and a full band).

Subsequent dates in the series (June 4, July 23, September 24 and November 5) will feature Flamenco, Afro-Cuban and African music and dance, Arabic and Andaluz music and more. Las Guitarras de Espana will be performing, as either a large or small ensemble, at each show in the Flamenco Collaborations Series.
