LOS ANGELES (Coachella Valley Festival Website) - The Pixies are to reunite for the Coachella festival in the US where they will top the bill with Radiohead and Kraftwerk.
It's the first confirmation of the much anticipated Pixies reunion and - unless they play anywhere else first - will be their first gig since splitting up 11 years ago.
It's not yet clear if all four original members, Frank Black, Joey Santiago, Kim Deal and David Lovering, will play or if the show will be a one-off performance.

The equally influential Kraftwerk reunited in 1999 to release a new single, Expo 2000, and last year reworked their song Tour De France into an entire album.

Radiohead are currently taking time off after a year on tour but have an eight-date tour of Australia and Japan planned before Coachella.

All three bands will headline the first day of the festival on May 1. Organisers are still finalising contracts with dozens of other bands, including headliners for the festival's second day.
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is held in Indio, California. Last year's festival was headlined by the Beastie Boys and Red Hot Chili Peppers and included performances by the White Stripes and a reformed Iggy Pop and the Stooges.
