Carmen In 3D Advanced Tickets And Group Sales Now Available
Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ 42West for RealD) RealD Inc. (NYSE: RLD) and the Royal Opera House announced today that advanced tickets and group ticket sales are now available in the United States for the theatrical entertainment event, Carmen in 3D, opening nationwide Saturday, March 5thexclusively in RealD 3D-equipped theatres. The first ever live opera shot and released in cinemas in 3D, Carmen in 3D will open in more than 750 domestic locations including major cinema circuits Regal, AMC, Cinemark, Carmike and Rave.

Carmen in 3D premiered on February 6th as the closing night film of the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. "The positive response from the premiere furthers our belief that Carmen in 3D is a compelling entertainment event that will offer fans of the arts a unique and immersive operatic experience," said Joseph Peixoto, President of Worldwide Cinema, RealD. Carmen in 3D, a co-production by RealD and the internationally renowned Royal Opera House, marks a new era for opera as the first time that an opera has been filmed and distributed to cinemas worldwide in state-of-the-art digital 3D. Carmen in 3D offers an immersive entertainment experience that will transport audiences to the illustrious Royal Opera House and into the thick of the expansive production of the timeless tale of love, jealousy and betrayal.

Georges Bizet's Carmen has been captivating audiences since its debut in 1875. Filmed in 3D during live performances at the Royal Opera House,Carmen in 3D is a feature film event depicting acclaimed director Francesca Zambello's interpretation of the opera classic. Directed for cinema by Julian Napier and produced by Phil Streather, with memorable performances by Christine Rice (Carmen), Bryan Hymel (Don Jose), Aris Argiris (Escamillo), and conducted by Constantinos Carydis, Zambello's hugely successful production of Carmen was a hit with London audiences and critics and promises to delight audiences around the world with its timeless music and encompassing 3D visuals.
