Philadelphia, PA (Top40 Charts / CB OmniMedia) CB OmniMedia recording artist NovA has announced the release of his eagerly awaited debut album. "The New Black" will arrive in stores and on iTunes on February 10, 2011.
The album will be heralded by the first single, "Loving You Again" debuting for free download on NovA's Official Website https://www.NovaIsHipHop.com on February 5th, 2011. The music video for "Loving You Again" is also available on Nova's website and paid download of the track will be available on iTunes on February 10th, 2011.
"The New Black" is a ground-breaking, genre blurring album brought to you by enigmatic mind of NovA. The album was written and recorded over a 2 year period in Philadelphia and was inspired not only by the historical city but by life itself. NovA's inventive style blends the kind of gritty Hip Hop, that only a city such as Philadelphia could inspire, with a extraordinary fusion of pop, rock n' roll, funk and R&B. As others have done before him, NovA proves that innovative music that breaks from the cookie cutter mold is what inspires music lovers. "The New Black" is a bold departure from the "Philly Rap" sound so prevalent among Philadelphia Hip Hop artists. "I knew that it would be risky", says NovA. "But at the same time, I feel that it is something that is needed. Hip Hop has become so stale and predictable, I thought that I should shake things up", he adds.
"I also think that it was important for me to have complete control over the project in order to preserve its integrity. That's why I wanted to release 'The New Black' independently", says NovA, who handled everything from writing the lyrics, sound engineering, the album artwork and even directing and editing the video for the album's lead single "Loving You Again".
To celebrate the release of "The New Black", NovA is hosting an album release party on February 10th, 2011 at the Arts Garage in Philadelphia (1533 Ridge Ave) starting at 9pm. The album release party will feature music from "The New Black" as well as performances by not only NovA but other innovative local talent such as: Menace 2 Society, Too Much Raw, Mic Stewart, and L Black The Eastcoast Bully. The cover charge for the event is $5 and the venue will feature $5 drink specials all night.
