Rodrigo Y Gabriela Pay Homage To Guitar Pioneer Al Di Meola

New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) Legendary guitar virtuoso Al Di Meola joined rising young stars Rodrigo y Gabriela onstage in Paris for an intimate performance. The Mexican guitar duo, whose popularity continues to surge across the globe, sat down before the show to talk about what playing with guitar master Di Meola meant to them.

Gabriela sung Di Meola's praises as an inspiration and an idol. "Al Di Meola to me is one of the greatest composers of this era," she said, also calling him "an incredible player and very unique, he's truly a pioneer."

Rodrigo echoed Gabriela's sentiments, adding that Di Meola's influence on his own musical career could not be understated. "He's been very, very influential," said Rodrigo. "More than my rock and roll, heavy metal heroes."
