New Music Awards Select Vince Hatfield As Country Male Artist Of The Year
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ PLA Media) Vince Hatfield, the West Texas native currently at radio with a cover of the KISS single Beth, was honored as 2010's New Music Awards "Country Male Artist of the Year." "This was a cap to a great year," says Vince. "Throughout 2010, we had our sixth number one with Through That Glass which went on to become the official song for Fathers Against Drunk Drivers." Other winners include Lady Antebellum, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Train and Michael Buble.

Vince's current single, Beth, is a cover of the 1976 KISS ballad that proved to be a stretch for the Rock n' Roll act that had carved a niche for their upbeat tracks. This song was a benchmark for KISS proving they were more than just a pounding rock act. It became the first Top 10 single for the group and their first Gold hit. Vince's version is already receiving positive remarks from radio.

Who would have believed a country artist could take it 30 plus years later and make it a multi-format hit?

Throughout 2010, Vince achieved his fifth consecutive New Music Weekly number one single with his emotive and redemptive album title track "Through That Glass." Due to the powerful lyrical content based on the effects drunk driving can have one one's life, Father's Against Drunk Driving reached out and picked up the single as their official song throughout 2011. His latest album, produced by Grammy-nominated Eric Paul, featured collaborations with Country Music Hall of Famer, Charlie McCoy, Grammy, ACM and CMA award-winning guitarist Brent Mason and celebrated bassist/band leader, Mike Chapman.
