NEW YORK (Green Day Official Website) - Green Day fans have a lot to look forward to in 2004. Billie Joe Armstrong has left an audio message on greenday.com saying the band will finally release a follow up to 2000's " Warning" album. He says it took three and a half years to make music that blows him away, and he thinks it will blow fans away too. He added that "we have a new album. I'm really excited about it. I think it's going to blow some people away. It's really blowing me away and that's why I play music.
I know it's taken me about three and a half years so far to blow myself away, but I just want to make sure. I wouldn't say I'm a perfectionist, but I just want things to be great. I want things to be exceptional." This year Green Day will also re-release their first album, 1991's "1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hour". The package will feature live performances, vintage photos, handwritten lyrics, original flyers and a radio performance and interview.
