The Woodwind & Brasswind Flagship Superstore To Host Leblanc Bliss Performance & Clinic
South Bend, IN (Top40 Charts/ Woodwind & Brasswind Official Website) On Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 11 a.m., The Woodwind & Brasswind Flagship Superstore in South Bend, Indiana, will celebrate the recent debut of the affordable Leblanc Bliss Bb Clarinet. The public is invited to join the celebration with a free performance and clinic by artist Julian Bliss to demonstrate the Leblanc Bliss clarinet's features and performance.

Julian Bliss, still in his early twenties, is already considered one of the top clarinet soloists in the world and has already appeared as soloist with several internationally renowned orchestras including the London Philharmonic, BBC Symphony, and the Royal Philharmonic. He was also among the distinguished artists to perform at the Queen's Golden Jubilee Celebrations at Buckingham Palace in 2002.

Specialists from Conn-Selmer will be on hand at The Woodwind & Brasswind to answer questions about the Bliss clarinets. They will give clarinet students and teachers in the audience a chance to view and test the instrument that Julian created in collaboration with Leblanc Clarinets and designer Morrie Backun.

Autographed Julian Bliss CDs and posters will be available, and attendees will have the opportunity to receive free gifts and door prizes provided by Conn-Selmer / Leblanc Clarinets.

Made in Elkhart, Indiana, much of the final design of the Leblanc Bliss clarinet is the result of Bliss' intention to create a superior sounding and performing instrument. The styrene typically used for a synthetic clarinet just didn't produce the required sound, so following a lengthy period of experimentation, Bliss and Backun created their own composite material that delivers a fuller sound.

Above all, Bliss wanted a clarinet that worked properly, meaning that it could "grow with a musician"-play with a clear, even sound, play in tune, and have quick and comfortable keys. He also wanted it to have a unique look, one that he says the British would call, "wicked."

Woodwind & Brasswind is proud to offer the virtuoso-designed Leblanc Bliss Bb clarinet for musicians from professional to beginner.

Julian will be available for interviews approximately an hour before and after the performance and clinic. For more information on the Woodwind & Brasswind Flagship Superstore, visit wwbwstore.com.

To schedule an interview time, please contact Heather Hosterman, Woodwind & Brasswind Market Development Coordinator, at heather.hosterman (at) wwbw (dot) com or call 888.348.5003 ext. 3531 no later than January 24, 2011
