New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Carnegie Hall Official Website) - Keith Jarrett returns to New York's Carnegie Hall on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at 8:00 PM to perform one of his rare solo piano concerts. The concert will feature an entire evening of solo piano improvisations performed in an acoustic recital setting. The concert will be Keith Jarrett's only North American solo concert of the year.Keith Jarrett's last solo concerts at Carnegie Hall were in September 2005 (his first solo concert at the hall in over 30 years) and in January 2009. The historic 2005 concert was recorded and released in 2006 by ECM Records as a 2-CD set: The Carnegie Hall Concert.

One of the most influential and provocative musicians in jazz.
Howard Reich, Chicago Tribune, January 2007

Jarrett is one of the world's greatest living jazz pianists.
Ollie Bivins, AllaboutJazz, September 2004

"Jarrett's recent Carnegie Hall concert may well have been the greatest solo performance of his career. To see him raise the bar again was truly a spectacular event-not only for himself but for the nearly three thousand fans, which gave him six passionate standing ovations. For many, this concert was a dream come true, providing some compensation for Jarrett fans who wish they could have been at previous triumphs such as The Koln Concert in 1975, The Vienna Concert in 1991, and The Carnegie Hall Concert in 2005. Another milestone has been added to the list: Carnegie Hall 2009 will undeniably be remembered as a singular triumph in Keith Jarrett's career and, as far as Jarrett fans are concerned, quite possibly in music."
John Allaster, allaboutjazz.com - February 22, 2009

Keith Jarrett has come to be recognized worldwide as one of the most creative and uncompromising musicians of our times - universally acclaimed as an improviser of unsurpassed genius and a classical keyboardist and composer of great depth.

Over the past 4 decades, his landmark improvised solo piano concerts and recordings have incorporated a broad spectrum of musical languages and idioms revealing a dynamic creative process producing spontaneously composed music that is both deeply personal, yet universal.

The solo piano improvisations on his best selling ECM Records solo piano recordings such as Facing You, Solo Concerts, The Koln Concert, Sun Bear Concerts, Paris Concert, Vienna Concert, La Scala, Radiance, Carnegie Hall Concert and Testament - Paris/London have helped redefine the role of the piano in contemporary music. This singular body of solo piano work is without precedent, with The Koln Concert being the best selling solo piano recording in history.
