Helsinki, Finland (Top40 Charts/ DIGIA Finland) - Fans can now directly interact with their favorite music acts with a free location-based mobile app, Flowd, launched today across iPhone and Android smartphones.
Developed by Digia (NASDAQ OMX Helsinki exchange: DIG1V), Flowd facilitates two-way conversation between music acts and their fans, bringing them closer together than ever before. Music acts can keep their supporters up-to-date with their latest news, views, tours and appearances, and offer them special rewards for their loyalty. Available now, fans can download the app and immediately connect with worldwide No 1 DJ, Armin van Buuren, UK pop sensation The Wanted, trance DJ Markus Schulz and others.

With loyalty programs in development, fans will have their voices heard and be rewarded for their activities on Flowd, earning loyalty points to receive exclusive access to merchandise and content from their favorite music acts.

Armin van Buuren, the world's top ranked DJ, chose Flowd as it makes it easier to let his fans know about his latest news, music and gigs, and to talk directly with his supporters. "There are many social media, but I'm always looking for new ways to connect with my fans, to keep them up to date with the latest news of what I'm doing and where I'm playing. Flowd is the perfect app for that, connecting with my loyal fans while I'm on the road. Some exciting features will be added in the near future," explained van Buuren.

Any music act, regardless of whether they are up-and-coming or already established, can register and start using Flowd to connect with their fans today at https://flowd.com.

Flowd provides users with location-based social networking tools that are set to transform the relationship between music acts and their fans. With Flowd's slick, simple interface, users can check-in to places, send messages, share pictures and connect with their friends from Twitter and Facebook. Users can also customize the look and feel of Flowd by re-skinning the application with their favorite music act's theme.

"The music industry is changing rapidly and we see a need for new services that increase an artist's ability to connect with their most devoted fans and manage their social networking from one place. Flowd's combination of location-based services, social networking and entertainment lets users and music acts interact at a whole new level," said Tommi Laitinen, SVP, Flowd.

Flowd is now available on iTunes App Store and Android Market.
