New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Coal Train Railroad Official Website) - In response to the enthusiasm surrounding Coal Train Railroad's 2010 Summer Podcast Series, Nashville's breakout "jazz-for-kids" quartet has bundled together the newly-recorded material from the podcasts into a digital EP entitled "Live in Monophonorama". The EP will initially be released December 1, 2010 on the band's online store and BandCamp before going to other music retail sites on December 15.

Included are two CTRR standards arranged for voice and piano trio, a version of "Bicy-cle" by "kindie-rock" band The Jellydots, the funky "Spider and the Fly" (written by the band's close friend and KC jazz legend "Mama" Myra Taylor), the folk classic "Choco-late Ice Cream Cone", and a quirky original Coal Train jump-blues entitled "Jump@7".

In February 2011, the band will premiere these and other songs from their self-titled debut (named one of the year's best children's albums in the December 2010 edition of Time Out New York Kids magazine) at a Meet The Artist Saturday workshop concert at the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center.
